Finally, after one year of waiting we have the English translation from Kafka-Fuura!

Kafka-Fuura’s Translation Notes:
A tamagushi is a Shinto offering made from a sasaki branch and paper.

The third line is a play on a play on words in a semi-famous poem about kagura ↓
「かご山やさか木の枝ににぎかけてその―思ひこそやれ」〈夫木・一八〉

The line is following a specific poem. Ties into the Japanese national treasures used to lure Amaterasu out of her cave.

While “forbidden zone” is a literal interpretation of the word (来無処), it’s also used to mean a fork in the road. As in you can’t keep going straight, you have to turn some way or another. The god associated with forks in the road is also associated to the Mishaguji curse gods that Suwako commands as well. (It’s all really just a bunch of really obscure wordplay.)

A couple of stanzas are direct references to Suwako’s spell cards.

さあ　緋の袖　玉櫛　鈴打ち鳴らし
御前に　はれのひ　ただ舞うたらば
かご山　やさか　木の枝　にぎかけ
やうやう　響け　供に遊ばせ

saa hi no sode tamagushi suzu uchinarashi
omae ni hare no hi tada mau taraba
kagoyama yasaka ki no eda nigikake
youyou hibike tomo ni asobase

Scarlet sleeves waving with tamagushi offerings and ringing bells…
But of course, if we are to dance in the gods’ presence on this festival day
So take up the jeweled sasaki branches of Kagoyama with paper streamers
Let us dance together as we call out and let our music ring!

Cánh tay áo rực đỏ phấp phới, trao tay nhau những cây tamagushi và tiếng chuông ngân vang

On an eternal bed of flowers
